GAM Japan Iwamoto (pictured) joined GAM as head of distribution in Japan in October 2023. Prior to joining GAM Investments, he worked for Barclays Securities Japan Limited as senior sales manager responsible for developing quantitative investment strategies for large financial institutions. Before that, Iwamoto was a senior sales executive at State Street Global Advisors (Japan) Co Ltd and worked for JPMorgan Securities Japan Ltd in equity and fund derivative marketing. Iwamoto has also served in senior roles at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc in Japan, BNP Paribas Tokyo and Mitsui & Co Ltd. He holds a BA in law from the Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. Rossen Djounov, global head of distribution at GAM, said that Iwamoto's appointment as head of the office in Japan would enable the firm to offer its clients “high-quality service seamlessly and further deepen our acquisition activities."
Takakiyo Iwamoto has been appointed representative and director of in Tokyo, effective 31 January. In this role, he will lead distribution activities and GAM’s office in Japan.
Preqin
, which issues data on alternative investment areas such as hedge funds, private equity and real estate, has appointed Fabien Chen to the newly created role of global head of benchmarks, based in Singapore.
Cameron Joyce, based in London, becomes the global head of research insights, heading the creation and development of Preqin’s institutional research.
Additionally, Gurkan Tasoren, also based in Singapore, has been hired to drive Preqin’s sales teams across the Asia-Pacific region as APAC head of sales. Previously, Chen led teams at McKinsey before joining Preqin in March 2022 as head of APAC strategy.
Joyce has been a senior vice president on Preqin’s Research Insights team since 2020.
Tasoren has more than two decades of experience in the global fintech industry, with prior leadership experience at Bloomberg.
